On the morning of 18 September, the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA)’s military training camp for Year 2018 freshmen was held at the Oriental Land. STA leaders Huang Changyong, Hu Min, Zhou Yin'e, Zhang Weiling and Tang Litu, as well as the heads of the relevant functional offices and various schools and departments, attended the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony began formally in the ceremony of singing the national anthem. Accompanied by Ji Feng, Deputy Director of the Oriental Land and Director of the Shanghai National Defense Education Centre, Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of STA, inspected the trainee companies formed by the Year 2018 freshmen.
During the session of reporting performances, each square formation of trainees carried out the formation drill and military boxing demonstration in turn. The trainees of the School of Dace had carefully prepared a group dance after training, in which the students fully demonstrated the professional level and youthful demeanor of the STA students with dance movements of international ballroom dance, Chinese dance and ballet etc.
Subsequently, Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA, Zhou Yin'e, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of Disciplinary Committee of STA, and Tang Litu, Vice President of STA, read out the list of outstanding students, the list of outstanding instructors and the list of outstanding companies. The STA leaders presented the certificates to the award winners.
As the representative of the winners of the outstanding trainee award, Liu Hengyi from the International Ballroom Dance 2018 of the STA School of Dance gave a speech on the stage. He reviewed the eight days of hard training together with everyone around the four key words of "diligence", "persistence", "friendship" and "mission". He expressed the determination to keep to the original aspiration going along the artistic party, and continue to move forward and add glory to STA.
Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of STA, made the concluding speech. On behalf of the STA leadership, he first expressed his thanks and greetings to all the officers and soldiers as the training instructors and to all teachers who had worked in the front line of the military training. He hoped that all the freshmen would have a thorough understanding of the military culture of unity and mutual aid, hard work and dedication, and the spirit of STA’s motto of "Striving for Utmost Perfection”, and that they would open and write a new chapter in their life Accompanied by the process of building a leading art college in China and a world-class art college, he would open and write a new chapter in his life along with STA’s progress in building a domestically leading and international first-class art university.
The closing ceremony concluded successfully in the warm atmosphere of all the teachers and students singing the school anthem together.
