On 10 September 2018, the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Hongqiao Road Campus Student Housing was held at 100 Honggu Road. Relevant leaders of the Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, responsible persons of the Logistics and Security Division and the School of Dance of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, all the class teachers and representatives of new students attended the ceremony.
Availability of student dormitories at STA has been relatively tight. For many years, STA has actively explored and put forward innovative solutions. Under the care and coordination of the relevant leaders of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai Municipal Government and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, with the joint efforts of the relevant STA leaders in charge and relevant functional departments, the resolution of the shortage in student housing at STA has been strongly supported by the Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology.
At the beginning of this semester, 404 students of STA successfully moved into the student housing on the Xianxia Road campus of the Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology. On one hand, it greatly shortens the time for students to commute between the Hongqiao Road Campus and the Lianhua Road Campus for classes and accommodation; on the other hand, the good dormitory environment and the installation of shower facilities in each dormitory room also provide convenience for students of the STA School of Dance in many aspects of study and living, and is of great significance to the student management work of the STA School of Dance in the future.
Zhu Xiaoqing, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of the Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology, said that the leadership of the Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology had attached great importance to the construction of student housing and had put forward very high requirements in all aspects of project preparation, design, construction quality, health and safety, striving to create a comfortable and safe living environment for all students. He wished that the students of STA can live happily and study happily here, and produce more excellent works in Shanghai’s pursuit to build itself into an international cultural metropolis.
On behalf of the leadership team and students, Chen Jianian, Dean of the STA School of Dance, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the leaders of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai Municipal Government, Shanghai Education Commission, Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology, and Shanghai Theatre Academy, as well as to all those who have worked hard for the successful completion and commissioning of the student housing.
Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Shanghai Theater Academy, once again thanked all the leaders of the relevant organizations, and pointed out that the student housing on the Hongqiao Road campus is a symbol of the “three-in-one” campus structure of the Shanghai Theater Academy. He also encouraged the students of the STA School of Dance to carry forward the fine traditions of today’s university students, study diligently, make painstaking efforts in research, cherish the current learning and living environment, and create more and better works.
