9 September 2018 is the registration day for new students at the Shanghai Theater Academy (STA). In the afternoon of the day, the meeting with parents of Year 2018 new students was held at STA’s Duanjun Theatre.
First of all, on behalf of the STA leadership and all faculty and staff, Huang Changyong, President of STA, expressed the welcome to all the parents and thanked them for sending their children to STA. He introduced STA’s history of development and its campus locations and functional positioning based on the "four centres". Shen Liang, Director of Academic Affairs Office, introduced the STA’s teaching management from the aspects of teaching system, student status system, international exchange, innovation and entrepreneurship, especially focusing on the small class teaching, curriculum design and classification, specialty transfer, suspension of study, overseas study and exchange opportunities. During the question and answer session, the Academic Affairs Office gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the parents on international exchange programs, student screening system, and students' specialty transfer.
The parents meeting will enable the parents of new students to have a clear understanding of the STA’s overall development and talent training, and lay a good foundation for building a better family-school community. After the university-level parents meeting, the colleges and departments will continue to hold their own new student meetings and parents meetings to further establish the family-school contacts, build up the bridge for communication between the parents and the relevant colleges and departments, and jointly promote students' personal growth and professional development.
