At the invitation of Professor Jean Grahamjones, Chairman of the International Federation of Theatre Research (IFTR), and the host of the 2018 World Conference of IFTR, Mr Yang Yang, Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and party totaling three people, attended the 2018 World Conference of IFTR in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, from 8 to 14 July 20178, as the representatives of the host of the 2018 World Conference of IFTR. In duration of the conference, Vice President Yang Yang and party observed all of the processes and activities throughout the conference, and communicated fully with the relevant IFTR staff in charge of the conference preparation on the details of and tasks to be completed by the parties concerned in the preparatory work. At the closing ceremony on the afternoon of 8 July, Vice President Yang Yang delivered a speech on behalf of the Shanghai Theatre Academy being the host of the next World Conference of IFTR and showed an introductory video of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. His speech received a warm response from the delegates. Many delegates congratulated Vice President Yang Yang and expressed that they will definitely come to Shanghai for the conference next year. Several experts from Asian countries expressed the hope that there would be even stronger voice of Asia at the 2019 World Conference of IFTR.
