On the afternoon of 31 May 2018, the 5th session of the Master Lecture Series of the Acting Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) featuring “Drama & Sketch” by Professor Sun Zuping was held at the STA Library, with the invitation and organization by Professor He Yan, Dean of the Acting Department.
The lecture was presided over by Ms Xiao Ying, Deputy Dean of the Acting Department. First of all, Mr. Xiao Ying thanked Professor Sun Zuping for coming to the Acting Department’s Master Lecture Series to teach and guide the teachers and students. She hoped that the teachers and students would be able to grasp the opportunity of this lecture to draw theoretical experience and gain insight and improvement in the disciplinary research and practical skills of the performing arts. Representatives of STA’s various departments, teachers and students of the Acting Department and other academic representatives participated actively in this event of the Master Lecture Series. Professor Sun Zuping started from the "complexity of the drama", quoted the classics and drew on rich references, and shared his understanding and exploration of the drama and sketches for decades. In the interactive session of the lecture, the teachers and students put forward their doubts in the creation and performance for which Professor Sun provided his advice and suggestions. This lecture was conducted in a warm atmosphere and attracted rounds of applause from the participants.
