On the evening of 9 June 2022, "To the Best of What We Are - Farewell Ceremony for Year 2022 Graduates Dramatic Literature Department" was successfully held. This was an "online farewell party" different from the past. More than 100 teachers and students gathered online to share the sentiments between teachers and students and share the feelings of farewell.
The farewell ceremony began with the graduation commemoration video “What is Youth” and, at the same time, warm interactions also began in the chat box. With the lapse of time, the graduates of Year 2022 have witnessed many important moments and incidents of the country and in the history, and they have resonated with the times and grown together with the Shanghai Theatre Academy. In the warm-up games, In the warming-up game, the graduates once again had a freeze-frame of their memories on the landmarks of STA, recalled the good days at STA, and looked forward to the wonderful moment of graduation.
After warm-up games, the farewell ceremony officially began. Present at the farewell ceremony were Lu Jun, chairman of the academic committee of Shanghai Theatre Academy and professor and doctoral supervisor at the Dramatic Literature Department, Li Dongmei, director of the Student Affairs Office, Zhang Jing, Secretary of the general party branch of the Dramatic Literature Department, Chen Jun, dean of the Dramatic Literature Department, Xu Yu, vice dean of the Dramatic Literature Department, and Chen Ying, deputy secretary of the general party branch of the Dramatic Literature Department. Also present at the farewell ceremony were relevant teachers including Gong Baorong, Yao Kougen, Luo Huaizhen, Shen Liang, Wei Dongxiao, Zhi Yunbo, Peng Yongwen, Qian Jue, Zhu Jinhua, Wei Mei, Zhai Yueqin, Zhang Hong, Li Shitao, Huang Jingfeng, Li Minyuan, Yi Jie, Yao Kun, Zhou Nan, Qin Ziran, Wan Qing, Li Lingyu, Guan Runqing and Liu Yingying etc.
With memories of the past and expectations for the future, three graduate representatives shared their reflections and gains, growth and transformation in learning, life and career planning. They were Yang Yiyi of BA Theatre Education 2018 representing the undergraduate students, Li Zhijuan of MA Chinese Drama History 2019 representing the master’s students, and Yao Shuang of PhD History Chinese Modern and Contemporary Drama 2017 representing the doctoral students.
As teacher representatives, Qian Jue, head teacher of BA Literature for Theatre, Film and Television 2018, and Peng Yongwen, head teacher of BA Theatre Education 2018, spoke at the ceremony and put forward the graduation message from teachers.
Subsequently, the online group photo and online roll call brought the warm atmosphere of the farewell ceremony to a climax. In this highlight time of life, with big smiles on their faces, the teachers and students waved their hands to each other, and left the most beautiful impression on the occasion of parting.
On behalf of the leading group of the Dramatic Literature Department, Zhang Jing, secretary of the general party branch of the Dramatic Literature Department, and Chen Jun, deputy secretary of the general party branch and dean of the Dramatic Literature Department of drama, also spoke at the ceremony and gave their best wishes to the graduates.
Finally, the participating teachers and students took a group photo together to put this memorable moment on freeze frame forever.
