During Shanghai’s battle against the COVID pandemic, in order to strengthen the determination and confidence of teachers and students to win the defensive battle of Great Shanghai, the general party branch in the College of Creative Studies of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) planned and launched a special party lecture series entitled the “Red Party Flag in Anti-COVID Battle". The keynote speaker was Fang Jun, secretary of the general party branch in the STA College of Creative Studies.
The first lecture of the “Red Party Flag in Anti-COVID Battle” special series was delivered in the form of short video. The keynote speaker introduced the severity and complexity of the COVID pandemic in Shanghai, and encouraged everyone that perseverance prevails and that Shanghai, as a glorious red city, will be revitalized in this major battle and big test.
On 16 April, the second lecture of the “Red Party Flag in Anti-COVID Battle" special series was held online. The main content was to draw strength from the party history and enhance confidence in fighting the COVID pandemic. A number of teachers and students of the College of Creative Studies who are party members actively engaged in the exchange and interaction. They talked on the basis of their own life experiences during the fight against the COVID pandemic. The life during the pandemic has enabled party members to fulfill their original aspiration of serving the people wholeheartedly with practical actions. All participants demonstrated full confidence in winning this battle of COVID prevention and control at an early date.
On 27 May, the third lecture of the "Red Party Flag in Anti-COVID Battle" special series was held online. The third lecture focused on the keyword of "youth" and inspired the participants to understand the power and creation of youth in the fight against the COVID pandemic. At the end of the party lecture, the keynote speaker made a special mention of a sentence in the General Secretary's speech, that is, "there is always the expectation that 'hope rests on you'." The young people of the new era, who shoulder the high expectations, will surely walk well in their own Long March and make outstanding achievements in the continuous endeavors to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
