In this special season in Shanghai, in order to promote more adequate and higher quality employment of the Class of 2022 graduates and minimize the impact of the COVID pandemic on graduates' job hunting, the Shanghai Theater Academy (STA) has taken a series of measures.


The comprehensive job fair of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Spring Online Live Job Fair Week for the Class of 2022 Graduates was held on 20 May. This was the highlight of a series of measures, and was also the second online live job fair after the exclusive job fair the special for the Department of Dramatic Literature and the College of Film on 14 May.

These two online job fairs attracted 61 employers and provided 715 jobs, covering theatre performance, copywriting planning, editing and directing, broadcasting and hosting, film and television production, art education etc, which had a quite high degree of matching with the disciplines of STA.


This second job fair was strongly supported by the Shanghai Radio, Film and Television Production Industry Association and the Shanghai Network Audio-Visual Production Industry Association, and attracted the active participation of enterprises and institutional organizations such as the Shanghai Mahua Fun Age, the Shanghai Film, Radio and TV Production Ltd, the Shanghai Great Bright Culture Group and the Shanghai Bilibili Technology etc.


Xie Wei, party secretary of STA, thanked the hiring organizations for their support to the university. He pointed out that building a more effective employment platform of two-way selection is an important part of the university’s talent training. The University expects to have in-depth exchanges with employers in such aspects as production-learning-research cooperation and university-enterprise cooperation, so as to achieve a win-win situation for multiple parties including employers, universities and students. Li Lin, director of the Visual Creativity Center of Shanghai Film, Radio and TV Production Ltd, spoke as the representative of the hiring organizations and put forward suggestions and ideas on how to further promote the connection between talent supply and demand and realize long-term cooperation between the enterprises and STA.

He Yan, dean of the Department of Acting, and Yi Tianfu, dean of the Department of Stage Design, spoken as the representatives of the colleges and departments, and comprehensively introduced the situation of this year’s graduates to the hiring organizations from the aspects of discipline construction, talent training and specialty characteristics etc. Li Dongmei, director of the Student Affairs Office and director of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Work Office, presided over the job fair.

As of 8 pm on 20 May, the total number of visitors to this job fair week was 12,396 cumulatively, with 1,369 resumes were submitted, the supply-demand ratio of positions (total number of people to hire in all jobs/total number of people submitting resumes) was 2:1, the average interview time of candidates was 8.5 minutes, 37 people successfully passed the interviews and 126 people were pending.


Since the beginning of this year, in order to alleviate the impact of the COVID pandemic on the employment of graduates, STA has actively opened up online communication channels between graduates and employers, and provided personalized recruitment platforms for employers. It has held a series of online recruitment, promotion and publicity activities, as well as employment and entrepreneurship guidance and advisory activities, including a total of 18 online two-way selection and publicity activities with the participation of more than 500 enterprises, thus providing convenient job hunting channels for graduates. Led by the leaders of STA, all colleges, departments and departments and relevant functional offices have actively carried out the special action of calling on enterprises and expanding job positions. The part secretary and the president of the university have taken the lead in further tapping potential resources, expanding job positions, strengthening the university-enterprise connection, deepening the university-enterprise cooperation and seeking to further expand the width and depth of cooperation on the basis of existing cooperation, and striving to achieve the adequate and high-quality employment for the Class of 2022 graduates.
