An exclusive job fair via live webcast for Department of Dramatic Literature and College of Film is successfully held

After careful preparation, the "Shanghai Theatre Academy’s Spring Job Fair Week via Live Webcast for Graduate of Class of 2022 – Exclusive Job Fair for Department of Dramatic Literature and College of Film" was successfully held on 14 May 2022. Spearheaded by the Student Affairs Office and with the joint efforts of the Department of Dramatic Literature and the College of Film, this job fair also received the full support of the Shanghai Radio, Film and Television Production Industry Association, Shanghai Network Audio-Visual Production Industry Association and the Shanghai Theatre Academy Alumni Association. Zhang Weiling, deputy party secretary and vice president of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), Zhang Jing, secretary of the general party branch of the Department of Dramatic Literature, and Chen Jun, dean of the Department of Dramatic Literature, as well as other leaders and teachers of the Department of Dramatic Literature, the College of Film and various functional offices, attended the opening ceremony of the job fair.

As the fight against COVID is in the most critical period, in order to adapt to the situation of COVID prevention and control, this job fair adopted the form of "scene-based + personalized" live webcast, and realized the one-click direct access to "live webcast presentation + video interview" through the Wechat applet platform called "STA Employment", so as to largely reproduce the scene of offline on-site job fair and realize the "zero distance" online job seeking. A total of 33 enterprises participated in the job fair, which released 86 job positions and planned to hire 271 people.


At the opening ceremony, Chen Jun, dean of the Dramatic Literature, and Li Zhenlin, dean of the College of Film, introduced the basic information of the Class of 2022 graduates of their respective department and college. Zhang Weiling, deputy party secretary and vice president of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, thanked the hiring organizations and co-organizers on behalf of the university.


Then, the students entered the "on cloud" job interviews. This job fair was tailor-made for students, which took full account of the characteristics of the job seeking graduates of the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the particular department and college concerned. It invited the leading organizations in the film and television industry to take part in, with the positions offered covering such multiple areas as screenwriting, editing and directing, planning and operation, so as to open up a green channel between graduates and hiring enterprises, and strive to realize the seamless connection of the entire job seeking process of STA students.


The students actively took part in the job fair and enthusiastically communicated with the hiring enterprises to understand the basic situation of each hiring enterprises. They engaged in detailed communication and exchange with the companies concerned on their interested positions, submit the resumes online and attended online interviews for the preferred and suitable jobs. The students who participated in the job fair actively communicated with the hiring organizations in the online chat rooms where the persons-in-charge from the hiring organizations patiently answered the questions of the students. According to statistics, a cumulative total of 443 students participated in the job fair, a cumulative total of 1,126 resumes were submitted, and 731 people watched in the online chat rooms.
