On the evening of 21 April, in order to well prepare for the Year 2022 undergraduate graduation thesis and guide students to standardize the writing format, the College of Film invited Professor Wu Baohe, a doctoral supervisor and an industry expert with rich experience in advising on graduation thesis writing, to hold a special online tutorial lecture for the graduating students. Professor Wu has, for many times, provided guidance to graduating students of our university for their graduation papers at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. With the "Guidance on the Format of Graduation Thesis" as the theme and the key points for checking the format of as the point of penetration, Prof Wu brought a highly practical tutorial lecture on graduation thesis for the graduating students.
Dong Jian, vice dean of the College of Film, attended the lecture. Fei Yong, head of the Teaching and Research Office of Broadcasting and Hosting Major, presided over the lecture. Graduating students, head teachers and thesis supervisors of various majors attended the lecture. At the same time, the lecture also attracted some postgraduate students and graduating students of other majors of our university to attend, adding up to a total audience of more than 100 people.
Based on the preparation of the file book for the Year 2022 undergraduate graduation thesis, Professor Wu Baohe explained and analyzed the key points in the process of checking the format of graduation thesis paper and undergoing the blind review to the students from the five key elements for thesis format checking, including the cover, abstract, key words, catalogue of chapters and references. He listed out the places prone to errors, and gave specific and detailed suggestions for revision. Students all expressed that they had benefited greatly in terms of the revisions to be made to the format of graduation thesis.
Then, a Q&A session between the teacher and students was held. The students asked questions about the practical problems they had encountered with regard to the format in the process of their respective thesis writing. Professor Wu answered the questions one by one in combination with his rich experience, and especially clarified the detailed questions of "paper citation", "picture insertion", "font and size" and so on.
At the end of the lecture, Dong Jian, vice dean of the College of Film, thanked Prof Wu Baohe for his guidance and hoped that the students would carefully make the revisions according to Professor Wu's explanation and do their utmost to complete their graduation thesis to the best possible extent.
