Facing the current severe and complex pandemic situation, as a member of an art university, what should we do and how should we do? In this special period, we will truly record every bit of the actions taken by the teachers, students and staff of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Art is a kind of warmth, art is also a kind of power, art can bring strength to others, and art can also inspire ourselves. Move forward with art! The pandemic is temporary, but art will last forever.

On 12 April, 27 students from the Shanghai Theatre Academy came to Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, a city most of them were not familiar with. A week later, they had a home like feeling for the city.

These 27 students were close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases and as such needed to be evacuated from the university campus in time. With the strong support and coordination of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, these students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy were arranged to stay at the Dongtai Leida Hotel in Yancheng City for quarantine.

In a rather uneasy mood, the students stepped on the bus to Yancheng. According to the requirements of pandemic prevention, students must take a PRC test before leaving Shanghai. As the PCR testing results took a fairly long time to come out, the departure time was delayed again and again. When the bus arrived at the hotel, it was already 2 a.m. next morning.

Although this was the time when people felt most tired, the people on the Yancheng side had no complaints at all, but only repeatedly told the liaison persons on the STA side that no matter how late the bus would depart from Shanghai, they would wait patiently, and the university and students would rest assured. A series of thoughtful and meticulous arrangements eliminated the restlessness of STA students as soon as they arrived at the quarantine point.

In all these days during their quarantine in Yancheng, the students have deeply felt the friendship of the local people towards Shanghai and their meticulous care. The hotel arranges temperature measurement and PCR testing on a daily basis, and three medical staff with the experience of participating in the medical team in aid of Hubei are assigned to take charge of the work of health assurance.

In order to ensure that the students can also have online classes effectively during the quarantine, the hotel has specially upgraded the speed of internet connection for the laptops they bring. At the same time, each room is also supplied with books and skipping ropes for everyone to better enrich him or herself and exercise properly during the quarantine.

It feels so warm. It's like home here. The STA students in Yancheng all said so. Although we are undergoing the quarantine, we are not alone. From the carefully prepared meals and fruits to as details as book borrowing and telephone inquiry, we can feel the considerate care of the local people for us at all times. A big thank-you to Yancheng, such a warm city, for taking care of us, and a bid thank-you to each and every one of the pandemic prevention personnel for their painstaking efforts.
