On 16 April, after a long journey of more than 4,000 miles, loaded with the aid supplies of loving care filled with the profound friendship of the people of Dujiangyan, the container truck successfully arrived at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. This batch of materials was a total of 25 tons of fresh vegetables of many different kinds.
At the time of the battle against the pandemic in Shanghai, this precious "gift bag" from afar will greatly replenish the stock of supplies of the university in the recent time, especially it will help relieve the pressure on the supply of vegetables for teachers and students, so it is undoubtedly a timely help. What is particularly touching is that the truck carrying these vegetables arrived at the Shanghai Theatre Academy four to five hours ahead of schedule after experiencing the bad weather of strong winds and heavy rain on the way. Zhang Weiling, deputy party secretary and vice president of the university, excitedly thanked the people of Dujiangyan after receiving this batch of supplies on behalf of the university.
After the arrival of the support supplies, the university promptly arranged for some of the property service, security and canteen staff wearing the protective suits to do the disinfection, sterilization and transportation according to the procedures. Although the thick protective suits and N95 masks made everyone sweat overall the body, it was exciting to see the bags of fresh vegetables.
After the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, according to the unified deployment of the Central Government, Shanghai provided the counterpart support to Dujiangyan Municipality for its post-disaster reconstruction, and implemented and completed 117 post-disaster reconstruction projects. After the completion of the support for reconstruction, Shanghai continued to carry out paired assistance and long-term cooperation in education, health, labor services, tourism, business investment and other aspects, and the two places have forged a deep friendship.
Under the care and guidance of the CPC Dujiangyan Municipal Committee and the Dujiangyan Municipal Government, the aid supplies on this occasion brought together the joint efforts of the Dujiangyan Federation of Industry and Commerce, private enterprises, vegetable suppliers and members of the general public in Dujiangyan. All parties concerned responded quickly, mobilized widely and worked concertedly to open up the whole process and channel of vegetable picking, supply, preservation and transportation.
Thanks to the people of Dujiangyan. We, who drink the same water of the Yangtze River, will go through the difficult times hand in hand and go through the ups and downs together.
