Facing the current severe and complex pandemic situation, as a member of an art university, what should we do and how should we do? In this special period, we will truly record every bit of the actions taken by the teachers, students and staff of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Art is a kind of warmth, art is also a kind of power, art can bring strength to others, and art can also inspire ourselves. Move forward with art! The pandemic is temporary, but art will last forever.
In the days after the pandemic broke out in Shanghai, Huang Hui, a teacher of the College of Chinese Opera of Shanghai Theatre Academy, like others, pays attention to the news and the Wechat Movements every day, and exchanges greetings with relatives, friends, colleagues and students from time to time. While feeling concerned about the pandemic, she is also thinking about what she can do as a musician?
Since she came to Shanghai to study and work in 1999, she has been deeply in love with the city for more than 20 years, and the city has left her too many memories. As a native of Hubei, Huang Hui has a deeper feeling about fighting the pandemic. The stories, videos and photos of people from all over the country rushing to Hubei to help in 2020 are deeply imprinted in her mind. Countless unknown people have reminded her of an anti-pandemic song at that time called "Your Name". It was this work that had given her the inspiration to re-interpret this song together with the touching images of the anti-pandemic battle in Shanghai. Being locked down at home, she could not enter the recording studio, whilst the recording requires an absolutely quiet environment. A quick wits idea came to her Huang Hui’s mind. She decided to "hide" in the shower room of the bathroom and recorded a new version of “Your Name” with her mobile phone. Huang Hui said that singing this song is also an expression of best wishes to cheer for Shanghai together believing that all difficulties will be overcome. At the same time, this song is a token of gratitude to those who are fighting in the frontline of the anti-pandemic battle. The victory will undoubtedly belong to us!

During the pandemic, Huang Hui is also polishing her open class "Learn Singing with Huang Hui". She said that she is willing to continue to sing more beautiful main stream songs and share her vocal skills and feelings of life; She is also willing to actively participate in performances for pubic interests and work pro bono to popularize how to "love music"; She is more willing to create some original songs of positive energy that can be loved by the people, to record this unusual era.
