Facing the current severe and complex pandemic situation, as part of an art university, what should we do and how should we do? In this special period, we will truly record every bit of the actions taken by the teachers, students and staff of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Art is a kind of warmth, art is also a kind of power, art can bring strength to others, and art can also inspire ourselves. Move forward with art! The pandemic is only temporary, but art will last forever.
Since the outbreak of this round of pandemic, the project team of the Shengle Property Management Co Ltd and the project team of the Shangfang Property Service Co Ltd, which respectively provide logistics service and support for the Huashan Road Campus and Changlin Road Campus of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), have fought together with teachers and students day and night. In the battle against the pandemic, they take STA as their home, and the teachers and students also have family like feelings for them.
The Huashan Road Campus
On 12 March, the Huashan Road Campus of STA started the "2+12" closed-loop management, and then entered the quasi-lockdown stage. As a strong force in the logistics service and support for the Huashan Road Campus, the project team of the Shengle Property Management Co Ltd earnestly implemented the relevant deployment of STA and the company, timely organized 16 housemasters and 25 cleaners to return to their posts, and built an all-weather assurance network for living within the student apartments.
On 12 March, the Huashan Road Campus of STA started the "2+12" closed-loop management, which was followed by the quasi-lockdown. As a strong force in the logistics service and support for the Huashan Road Campus, the project team of the Shengle Property Management Co Ltd earnestly implemented the relevant deployment of STA and the company, timely organized 16 housemasters and 25 cleaners to return to their posts, and built an all-weather assurance network for living for the student apartments.
During the 2+12 closed-loop management period, every day the housemaster ladies sent nearly 3,000 sets of meals to the doors of more than 900 students on 18 floors in the dormitory building. In order to deliver warm meals in time, the housemaster ladies must go up and down carrying the meal containers as heavy as dozens of kilograms each. After delivering each meal, their hands were chafed red by the meal containers.
During the period of pandemic prevention and control, the garbage generated in the student dormitory is 3-4 times or even more than usual. The cleaning ladies put on protective suits and gloves, and "go out to battle" with black garbage bags in their hands. Often before half a floor is cleaned, a XL-size black garbage bag is full. In the corridors of the dormitory building, they drag their "booty" going back and forth. Their clothes are soaked with sweat, and their gloves are worn out one pair after another.
In order to ensure the orderly operation of the sample collection for PCR testing on campus, the project team has always responded in time to complete the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of the testing site in advance before each PCR testing, and has always remained on the frontline irrespective of windy and rainy days.
From the time when the teachers and students entered the site to the time when they finished sampling and left, the staff of Shengle spared no trouble to remind the teachers and students coming for the testing to pay attention to various dos and don’ts. Not until the sampling work was all over, did they seize the time to drink a mouthful of water to moisten the throat a little, and then go into the next battle.
In order to build a strong defense line against the pandemic on campus, the "Master Le" team goes out early and returns late doing maintenance and repairs, and can be seen everywhere on the campus. The team is on call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to ensure the normal operation of all facilities, such as the public bathhouse put into use as an emergency response, which is a key facility badly needed by teachers and students during this special period of time.
In order to ensure the necessary temporary accommodation during the special period, staff of Shengle turned themselves into "removers" to clean up some of the classrooms and re-furnish them into temporary health observation units on campus. In the case of insufficient lighting for the roads previously under construction, the project team acted quickly to purchase and install additional lamps to ensure the safe passage of teachers and students entering and exiting the dormitory building and campus.
In order to ensure the rigorous implementation of the university’s measures on pandemic prevention and control, the project team has also carefully selected 12 housemasters and cleaners to set up an anti-pandemic special taskforce, which actively participated in the anti-pandemic drills under the unified coordination of the university’s Logistics and Security Office.
The drills highly simulated the emergency disposal undertaken by property management staff in case of abnormal PCR test results on the campus. The housemaster ladies put on airtight protective suits, carried 30 kilograms of disinfectant on their back, and carefully sprayed each single corner. Through these drills, the staff’s emergency disposal ability in terms of pandemic prevention and control has been significantly improved.
The Changlin Road Campus
The Changlin Road Campus started quasi-lockdown on 14 March. The project team of the Shangfang Property Service Co Ltd designated for this campus quickly switched from the normalized pandemic prevention and control mode to the quasi-lockdown mode. The project service personnel live on campus, with the project manager, dormitory administrators, cleaners, gardeners and engineering staff all sticking to their posts. The service team of Shangfang Property Service has brought safety and peace of mind to teachers and students with their practical spirit and down-to-earth style.
When the quasi-lockdown was first implemented, the project manager, who had just recovered from a surgical operation and return to work, immediately led the team to work on the pandemic prevention and control on campus in a round clock fashion. She timely conveyed the prevention and control policies, comprehensively formulated the pandemic prevention and control plans, implemented the stockpiles of materials on campus, and provided effective cooperation when the teachers and students were receiving PCR testing. What is behind the guarantee for the daily life of nearly 700 teachers and students on the Changlin Road Campus is the dedication of this service team of nearly 30 people.
In order to prevent the occurrence of cross infection, the project team of Shangfang Property Service set aside an elevator that goes directly to the isolation area on the 9th floor of the all-female dormitory building, and made reasonable and professional zoning arrangements according to the different situations of teachers and students.
At the same time, the project service team rehearsed and simulated the emergency plan after receiving the report of suspected positive cases on the campus, which triggered the disinfection and sterilization on campus and emergency PCR testing. At the drill site, the project service personnel turned into "Baymax" and were ready to go at all times.
Under the current pandemic situation, this persistence on campus is particularly valuable. You also have the same name as we all do. We are all STAers!
