Facing the current severe and complex pandemic situation, as part of an art university, what should we do and how should we do? In this special period, we will truly record every bit of the actions taken by the teachers, students and staff of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Art is a kind of warmth, art is also a kind of power, art can bring strength to others, and art can also inspire ourselves. Move forward with art! The pandemic is only temporary, but art will last forever.
4 April 2022 was a day that Shanghai will never forget. Under the extremely severe pandemic situation, in order to realize the dynamic clearing of COVID-19 positive cases in the society as soon as possible, Shanghai carried out a city-wide PCR testing on this day. The simultaneous screening in a mega city with a population of more than 25 million can be called an unprecedented major and tough battle. As of 8 am on 5 April, a total of 25.665 million people were tested in the whole city with a total of 2.427 million tubes of samples.
On the day, 2,973 teachers, students and staff were tested. We noticed that the "Baymax" who carried out the PCR testing in some campuses of STA were medical teams in aid of Shanghai from other provinces and cities, such as the testing team from Wuxi as part of the medical team sent by Jiangsu Province and the testing team from Huangshan as part of the medical team sent by Anhui Province etc.
In order to help Shanghai, which is facing the severe challenge of the pandemic, 15 provinces across the country have sent 38,000 medical personnel and mobilized a PCR testing capacity of 2.38 million tubes to support Shanghai.
At this moment, it made us feel deeply and tangibly the strong sense of brotherhood and solidarity on the land of China once again. After the PCR testing on 4 April was over, the Dance College of Shanghai Theatre Academy also prepared gifts for the medical teams from the neighboring provinces and cities which came to carry out the testing. The volunteers and the members of the special taskforce of the college expressed sincere thanks to the "Baymax" with applause.
The teachers, students and staff deeply appreciate the efforts of medical personnel from all over the country. In the future, when we use cultural and literary works to draw portraits and biographies of the times, we will remember this day - 4 April 2022.
