"Book Series on Performance Methods of Theatre Masters in the 20th Century" is compiled with Professor He Yan, dean of the Acting Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy, as the editor-in-chief and with the support of the "Peak and Plateau" project of the Shanghai Municipality. The book series focuses on studying, translating and introducing the performance methods and related theories of world-class theatre masters emerging in the 20th century. The introduction of these performance methods and related theories into China is based on the understanding of the development status of performing arts in China. This book series is divided into several parts, such as training tutorials, collections of theoretical theses, interviews with trainees and translations of monographs, with a number of relevant books having already been published.
The books published this time are "A Tutorial on Linklater Voicework", "A Record of lnterviews with Trainees on Linklater Voicework", "A Collection of Theses on Linklater Voicework", "A Tutorial on Fitzmaurice Voicework", "A Record of Interviews with Trainees on Fitzmaurice Voicework" and "A Collection of Theses on Fitzmaurice Voicework". Among them, the tutorials are compiled according to classroom teaching conducted by Fitzmaurice and Linklater personally and as such are highly valuable learning materials; The records of interviews collate the training experience and understanding of all trainees into one volume on the basis of organized interviews with all trainees and as such are the restoration and reflection of the learning process, the discussion of the masters’ theories and the collision of different viewpoints; The collections of theses are the outcomes of the real experience of classroom experiencers and the onsite observation of researchers, which are then transformed into theses and compiled as the collections of theoretical research papers.
