Facing the current severe and complex pandemic situation, as a part of an art university, what should we do? How should we do?

In this special period, we will truly record every bit of the actions taken by teachers, students and staff of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Art is a kind of warmth, art is also a kind of strength, art can bring power to others, and art can also inspire ourselves.

Move forward with art! The pandemic is temporary, and art will last forever.

During the pandemic period, under the condition of tight restrictions on movements, teachers and students are very concerned about how to make better use of the digital resources of the unique collections at the university library to enrich their study, research and life.

Therefore, the Shanghai Theatre Academy Library and the Department of Dramatic Literature jointly launched a series of activities entitled "Advocate Classic Reading and Create a Good Style of Study". On23 March, the special online lecture on the topic of "Utilization of Resources of Unique Collections at STA Library" was held, which marked the opening of this series of activities. The lecture was enthusiastically pursued by teachers and students of all majors of the entire university. Nearly 200 people entered the Tencent online conference room, including Huang Changyong, president of STA, who was present in the online conference room and listened to the lecture from the beginning to the end.

Before the lecture began, Yang Yang, vice president of STA, made a brief speech. Yu Yongjie of the STA Library gave a keynote presentation covering the following four aspects: the basic facts of the STA Library, the introduction of the collected literature in the library, the search of printed books and the utilization of digital resources. Zhi Yunbo, deputy director of the Research Office of STA, holder of the “Outstanding Young Scholar of Social Sciences in Shanghai” title and a scholar of the Twilight Program, introduced his "secrets" of using different databases. Huang Jingfeng, a scholar of the Twilight Program and an associate professor of the Department of Dramatic Literature, introduced the systematic structure of historical materials from his own experience in the research of Chinese drama history to help the audience to be more targeted in the search of resources.

As the host of this lecture, Li Wei, curator of the STA Library and deputy editor-in-chief of the journal “Dramatic Art”, said that it is not easy to do academic work, but as long as you have a will, you can achieve something through your own efforts.
