Since the outbreak of the current round of pandemic, the purchase and delivery of food has become the biggest problem for many people. About half of the teachers of the Department of Directing have been locked down at home for many days, and the Wechat group for teaching work has also become a place for the big family of the Department of Directing to encourage each other and share the experience of food purchase and delivery.
Wang Jiajian, teacher and head of trade union of the Department of Directing and a party member, whose residential quarter has just been lifted from lockdown, immediately replied after seeing the messages in the Wechat group and volunteered to act as the deliveryman for the colleagues and send the loving care to the teachers on behalf of the party general branch of the Department of Directing. After sending the reply message, Wang Jiajian began to contact all the teachers under lockdown to know everyone's needs, and carefully prepared a shopping list for the next day.
Early the next morning, Wang Jiajian drove to the supermarket near his home for shopping. After a while, he filled the two shopping carts with meat, eggs, vegetables, bread and seasonings. After sorting the bags and packing, Wang Jiajian drove his car to make the deliveries from door to door. Because of the lockdown, the purchases can only be handed over to the recipients very quickly at the gate of each residential quarter, or handed over to the staff of the residential quarter concerned to pass over.
When it was close to lunch time, there were still half of the purchases yet to be delivered. Wang Jiajian decided to skip lunch and hurried to the next person’s home. It was not until 3.30 pm did he completed all the "orders". The day's trip went through a number of districts including Qingpu, Jiading, Minhang, Jing'an, Changning and Pudong New Area. This journey of more than 100 kilometers connects the community spirit of STAers.
