On the morning of 17 March, the first PT Expert Workshop of this semester was held online. The keynote speaker was Ms He Jie, chief host of the SMG Media Centre and resident artist of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. This was also the first time that the PT Expert Workshop had been held online since its inception. Dong Jian, vice dean of the College of Film, Fei Yong and Li Zepeng, teachers of the College of Film, as well as students of the broadcasting and hosting major, participated in the workshop and had a different experience from the previous ones.

Before the workshop began, Dong Jian, the vice dean, first welcomed and thanked Ms He Jie for getting together with the teachers and students as scheduled through the screen to, once again, teach the cutting-edge practical knowledge to the students while the pandemic was severe . At the same time, she also took this opportunity to express the care and concern about the students’ life under quarantine, hoping that all students would maintain the positive attitude and come together to study hard, live seriously and fight the pandemic.

At the beginning of the workshop, Ms He Jie took the audience for a "cloud tour" the news studio and control room of the SMG Media Center through the camera, and explained in detail the spatial layout and application scenarios of these facilities, which gave full play to the new means of "cloud connection", thus enabling the students to access the new content that offline courses can't offer and adding a new form to the content of the expert workshop.

Then, the workshop entered the second part, i.e. interview skills training. In the face of the pandemic currently, Ms He Jie gave a "semester opening quiz" for the students, asking them to prepare five questions for a simulated interview with Zhang Wenhong, director of the National Medical Centre for Infectious Diseases or a person under quarantine. The students actively expressed their questions and opinions from different angles. Ms He Jie listened patiently and gave her comments one by one. Based on the interview designed by the students, Ms He Jie's opinions focused on three points: dare to ask questions, be able to set questions, and ask questions skillfully. Finally, Dong Jian, the vice dean, summarized this PT expert workshop.

The first “Classroom on the Air” expert workshop of this semester was successfully concluded. In the current period of pandemic prevention and control, using such a special way to ensure that students learn professional knowledge and constantly recharge reflected the importance attached by the university and teachers to teaching and the enthusiasm of students for learning.

In the face of the pandemic, the Shanghai Theatre Academy has been actively taking various ways to "recharge" students from many aspects. Teachers of all majors have learnt the Chaoxing system overnight to ensure that online teaching is carried out in an orderly manner. The STA Online Library has been updated and supplemented with a large number of audio-visual resources. It is believed that the teachers and students of STA will surely be able to resolve the problems brought by the pandemic, overcome the difficulties and embrace a beautiful spring.
