From 8 November to 6 December, the Quality Assurance Office carried out the month-longclass observation campaign undertaken by the teaching supervisors. This was the first major attempt of our university to link the teaching evaluation results with the promotion of teachers' professional titles, in which class teaching observation was conducted for teachers applying for senior professional titles this year.
This class observation campaign undertaken by the teaching supervisors involved more than 20 teachers who had applied for professor, associate professorand art stream this year. According to the teaching tasks undertaken by each teacher this semester, one of the courseswas randomly selected in the period from Week 10 to Week 14 for teaching supervision experts with corresponding or similar professional backgrounds to conduct the class observation. During the class observation campaign, the experts comprehensively evaluated and gave ratings for all the items in the “Class Observation Form for Teacher’s Professional Title Evaluation” one by one according to the actual status of teaching observed, and put forward improvement and upgrading suggestions for their teaching, and finally entered the results into the teaching quality management platform of our university.
Although this campaign involved a large number of people and was tightly pressed by time, the teaching supervision experts carried out their work seriously and carefully with full enthusiasm, performed their duties objectively and fairly, and successfully completed their respective class observation tasks as required.
