On 29 November, the Second Plenary Meeting of the International Advisory Committee on Film Education of Shanghai Theatre Academy & Academic Seminar was held in the International Conference Center on the Changlin Road Campus of Shanghai Theatre Academy by way of in-person and virtual meetings. This event was one of the theme activities of the 76th anniversary celebration of Shanghai Theatre Academy. The event was presided over by Professor Ren Zhonglun, vice chairman of the China Film Association, vice chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles, chairman of the Shanghai Film Association and chairman of the International Advisory Committee on Film Education of Shanghai Theatre Academy. Teachers and students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film also gathered together to listen to the insightful ideas of experts and scholars. Professor Huang Changyong, president of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered a speech at the event. The participants had wonderful discussions on how to cultivate international-oriented diversified film talents, how to keep up with the development of film science and technology in the new era, how to focus on the cultivation of students' practical ability, how to innovate teaching system in combination with the industry, how to treat the value of film, and how to study and inherit excellent traditional culture etc. In his concluding speech, Professor Ren Zhonglun stressed that in the journey towards becoming a country with a strong film industry, quality is the basic requirement for the future development of Chinese films, and global influence is the core of the future development of Chinese films. The event was successfully concluded with the warm applause of the participating guests, teachers and students.
