1 December 1was the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). On this memorable day of special significance, the "Extraordinary: Young Filmmakers Education Support Program" Award Ceremony (STA) was grandly held in the newly completed No. 2 Standard Screening Hall on STA’s Changlin Road Campus. Senior representatives of Shanghai International Film and Television Festivals Center, Piaget China andShanghai Theatre Academy College of Film, as well as teachers and students of Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film, attended the ceremony.
Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) is China’s first and only international Class A film festival accredited by the International Federations of Film Producers Associations, and it is also one of the largest and most influential International film festivals in the Asia Pacific region. This year, as the official partner and designated jewelry brand of SIFF, Piaget, the Swiss premium jewelry and watchmaking master, jointly launched the "Young FilmmakersEducation Support Program" with SIFF, and jointly held the "Extraordinary Master Class" course and established the “Extraordinary Scholarship” with three well-known film schools, namely, Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film,Shanghai University Shanghai Film Academy and Shanghai Vancouver Film School, aiming to encourage excellent students and excellent works in these three film schools, support more excellent young filmmakers to devote themselves to creation, continue and carry forward the craftsman spirit in the film industry, and support the vigorous development of China's film industry.
The winners of the “Extraordinary:Young Filmmakers Education Support Program - Extraordinary Scholarship” from STA are as follows:
"Excellent Work Award" x1 - Winner: The Red Kite (2021 MFA graduation work;Director: Liu Chen;Photography: Duan Ran;Instructors: Hou Yong, Gao Xinyu). “The Red Kite” has a very high degree of overall completion. It not only the outcome of the professional quality, unity and cooperation of students in all directions of film production, but also a demonstration of the teaching level of STA’s film production major.
"Excellent Student Award" x1 -Winner: Liu Yixin (2021 graduate ofBAFilm and Television Photography and Production). Liu Yixin has undergone four years of hard study, excelling from excellent academic results through to excellent graduation work. He has made persistent efforts, showed great courage and wisdom to constantly innovate, and has gained the unremitting mutual support among the creative teams.
Ms Tong Ying, deputy director of Shanghai International Film and Television Festivals Centre, Mr Mathieu Delmas, chief executive of Piaget China, and Professor Li Zhenlin, dean of Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film, delivered speeches at the award ceremony. Ms Wang Chunyun, deputy party secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film, introduced the preparations for the "Extraordinary: Young Filmmakers Education Support Program".
