In order to give full play to the supporting role of Shanghai-basedhigher education institutions in the professional development of basic education teachers in the city, expand teachers' disciplinary perspective, improve teachers' aesthetic cultivation and cultivate teachers' comprehensive artistic ability, the “2021 Special Training Course for Middle School Art Teachers of Shanghai Tertiary, Secondary and Primary School Teachers Discipline Training Base”, which was hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and jointly undertaken by the Shanghai Teachers Training Center and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, was successfully held at the Shanghai Theatre Academy from 5 to 7 November. A total of 41 middle school art teachers from 13 districts of Shanghai participated in the training. Yin Yijie, deputy secretary of the Party committee and deputy director of the Shanghai TeachersTraining Center, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Professor Shen Liang, director of the Academic Affairs Office and dean of the Graduate School of Shanghai Theatre Academy, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Professor Zhang Shengquan of the Shanghai Theatre Academy presided over the opening ceremony.
This training was composed of three modules, i.e. "special lecture", "practical training" and "discussion and presentation". It aimed to improve teachers' abilities of curriculum design and practical teachingto develop students' core literacy for the subject concerned through such interactive forms as expert lectures, after-class Q & A sessions, discussions and exchanges, and rehearsalsand drills.
