Prior to 1July, the Red Culture and Creative Works Exhibition of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) opened in the Exhibition Hall of Duanjun Theatre on the Huashan Road campus, creating a strong atmosphere for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
Two years ago, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a red cultural and creative works exhibition was also held at the STA campus. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, the red cultural and creative works exhibition was held again. These two major exhibitions on the occasion of two major celebrations indicate that the red culture and creation is more and more deeply involved in STA’s campus culture, and has become another way that STA students use, on the basis of their disciplinary characteristics, to express the red culture.
The red cultural and creative works exhibition in 2019 was hosted by the College of Creative Studies, and this year, it was upgraded to be a university-wide event hosted by the Student Affairs Department and the Youth League Committee of the university, so the scope of participation was expanded to all colleges and departments.
Under the guidance of teachers of various majors, students studied the "four Histories" deeply by means of collecting materials through surveys, visiting heroes, visiting red culture landmarks and consulting historical materials, and turned the strength they drew therefrom into red cultural and creative works.
The red cultural and creative works exhibition this time, with the theme of "Art Carries Forward Red Power", received a total of 47 entries, 34 of which were approved for project support after evaluation. The works on display from each department all showed their own distinctive features. The original drama "Outpost", which was created and performed by the Shanghai Theatre Academy in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, also had spin-off products. Developing cultural and creative products for red works of performing arts has also become an important creative idea.
