Today is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Today is the celebration for the CPC, and is also the festival for the people. Today is the day we celebrate, and is also the day our eyes are brimmed with tears.
On 1 July 2021 at 7.30 am, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) began the day of celebrating the glorious festival with the plaque unveiling ceremony for the Party Building Service Center and Faculty Development Center of Lianhua Road Campus. STA leaders and heads of the College of Chinese Opera, the affiliated Chinese Opera School and relevant functional offices attended the unveiling ceremony.
First of all, four young Party members presented an affectionate poem recitation "A Hundred Years of Probing the Road in Pursuit of Chinese Dream". Subsequently, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, and Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of STA, jointly unveiled the plaques for the Party Building Service Center and Faculty Development Center of the Lianhua Road Campus. At the newly opened the Party Building Service Center of Lianhua Road Campus, all participants, led by Xie Wei, solemnly reviewed the oath of joining the CPC.
At 8.00 am, STA leaders, some of the managerial staff and some of the teachers got together at the Party Building Service Centre of Lianhua Road Campus to watch the live broadcast of the national-level conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Other party members among all teachers and students of STA also watched the live broadcast from the four campuses to listen to the important speech given by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China and Chairman of the Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee.
Party building leads the faculty development. On 28 April this year, the Party Building Service Center and Faculty Development Center of STA Huashan Road Campus was the first to be put into operation, focusing on the functions of basic-level party building, ideological and political education for the faculty, advancement of faculty's teaching competence, exchange and sharing among the faculty, and faculty services. The establishment and operation of the party building service center (faculty development center) on the four campuses was one of the items on the first to-do list of the “Do Practical Things for the Masses” campus construction program as party of STA’s party history learning and education activities, and was a concrete reflection of the determination to serve the teachers and students by doing “practical things”, and to demonstrate the original aspiration by doing “practical things”.
In order to comprehensively review the century-long journey of struggle of universities in Shanghai and provide a panoramic display of the achievements of party building innovation practice in universities in Shanghai in the new era, under the unified deployment of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee for Education and Health also set up eight university party building innovation practice sub-bases including the Shanghai Theatre Academy as one of them, in addition to the Fudan University Innovation Practice Base.
Prior to 1 July, the Shanghai Theatre Academy also commended the units and individuals winning the party-related awards at the various levels, and presented the “50 Years of CPC Membership” commemorative medallions to a group of long-standing Party members.
A hundred years ago, what the Chinese nation showed to the world was a state of decay and decline. Today, what the Chinese nation shows to the world is a thriving situation and that it is walking towards the great rejuvenation in an unstoppable pace.
Over the past hundred years, the Communist Party of China has delivered an excellent answer to the people and to history. Now, the Communist Party of China is holding the Chinese people together and leading them to embark on a new journey of achieving the second centennial goals.
On this glorious, great and sacred day, each and every STAer firmly believes that under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, our common home will be full of sunshine, full of vitality and full of hope.
