On the afternoon of 26 June 2021, the academic forum on the “Development and Innovation of Marxist Theory of Literature and Art in the New Era” was successfully held at the Huashan Campus of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, and Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA attended the forum. Also invited to the forum were Zhu Liyuan, honorary dean of the College of Marxism of Shanghai Theater Academy and senior professor of liberal arts at Fudan University, Xiao Wei, professor and PhD supervisor at the College of Marxism of Fudan university, Zhang Baogui, professor and PhD supervisor at the Department of Chinese of Fudan University, Shu Ye, professor and PhD supervisor at the Department of Philosophy of Nanjing University, as well as experts and scholars from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China Academy of Art, Shanghai Conservatory of Music and many other universities. The forum was divided into the first party and the second part.
The holding of this forum coincided with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The academic forum on the “Development and Innovation of Marxist Theory of Literature and Art in the New Era”, which was jointly undertaken by the College of Marxism, Art Theory Research Centre and Scientific Research Office of Shanghai Theater Academy, aimed to making the efforts to deeply implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the Symposium on Literary and Artistic Work, combine the Marxist theory with the literary and artistic creation in China, form a Marxist theoretical system of literature and art with Chinese characteristics, and train more literary and artistic workers with both moral and artistic integrity.
