As the Communist Party of China (CPC) was about to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding, Li Qiang, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, came to Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) on 18 June to conduct a party class and give a situation report for the teachers and students. After the meeting, our university, by closely connecting with the party history study and education and "four histories" publicity and education, held various forms of activities including the thematic party day events, party classes, organizational life events to earnest study and comprehend the “10 guidelines for party history study” put forward by Li Qiang, Party Secretary of Shanghai, during his party class and situation report for the representatives of teachers and students of Shanghai Jiaotong University.
On 24 June at 9 am, before the standing committee meeting of the party committee of our university started, convened by Xie Wei, Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, all members of the standing committee studied the spirit of the speech by Li Qiang, Party Secretary of Shanghai, and the “10 guidelines for party history study”. Members of the standing committee expressed that the "10 guidelines for party history study” has refined the ideological logic, theoretical logic and institutional logic contained in CPC’s century-long history. Reviewing the past will help foresee and inspire the future. The party history provides inspiration and references for the later generations, so that the later generations can grasp the historical context, understand the value of history and find the coordinates of the present in the logic of history and, at the same time, they can also identify the corresponding points with the propositions of the current era and social concerns. The “10 guidelines for party history study" is worthy of deep thinking by party members at all levels.
Based on their own work, the party and administrative leaders, persons-in-charge at various functional offices, colleges and departments, teachers and students of our university all shared their comprehension of the study.
