On the afternoon of 24 June2021, Wu Jianyong, Party Secretary, Ding Xiaodong, President, Sun Yuedong, Deputy Party Secretary, Sheng Chun, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, Cai Yonglian and Liu Ping, Vice Presidents of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), came to Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) for the joint study session of the party committee central groups. Xie Wei, Party Secretary, Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President, Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, Tang Litu and Yang Yang, Vice Presidents, Zhang Jiachun, Chief Accountant of STA and other members of the party committee theory central group of STA attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xie Wei.
The theme of this joint study session was "adhere to original aspiration through studying the theory and practicing the understanding and plan for the new situation through art-engineering integration ". At the meeting, the two sides first watched the promotional film of Shanghai Theatre Academy and the short film about STA’s work on party history study and education. Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Ding Xiaodong, President of Shanghai University for Science and Technology, respectively introduced the historical evolution of the two universities, the achievements of discipline construction, the safeguard measures for the implementation of high-level university construction tasks and other relevant information, which enabled both sides to have a deeper and more direct understanding of the two universities.
Based on the academic background, advantages and characteristics of the two universities, the representatives of the two sides spoke freely, pooled their wisdom, and conducted a warm and friendly discussion and interactive exchange. Both sides hoped to explore ideas in such directions as the application of artificial intelligence and digital scientific analysis in acting and directing art and stage design art, jointly design open topics and make constant breakthrough and innovation in terms of systems and mechanisms, and carry out interdisciplinary cooperation between art and engineering universities in the areas of students cross-training, faculty teams construction and training plans formulation, thereby achieving the integrated development and mutual cooperation of related disciplines, realizing the art-engineering integrated talent training mode, further implementing the "14th Five-Year Plans" of the two universities, and cultivating more comprehensive talents with art, science and technology skills for the country and society.
Heads of the relevant colleges and departments as well as functional offices from Shanghai Theatre Academy and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology also participated in the study session.
