This year’s graduation season coincided with the centenary birthday of the Communist Party of China, a solemn and glorious occasion that made us understand more about youth and responsibility. The graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony for the Class of 2021 of Shanghai Theatre Academy took place as scheduled.
On 23 June, the graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony for the Class of 2021 of Shanghai Theatre Academy was held at STA Experimental Theatre. University leaders Xie Wei, Huang Changyong, Hu Min, Zhou Yin'e, Zhang Weiling, Tang Litu, Yang Yang and Zhang Jiachun, as well as teachers' representatives, parents' representatives and 596 graduates of the Class of 2021 attended the graduation ceremony. Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of the university presided over the graduation ceremony.
The graduation ceremony began in the solemn national anthem. According to the agenda of the event, Chief Accountant Zhang Jiachun read out the “Decision on Commending the Outstanding Thesis Winners of Shanghai Theatre Academy Class of 2021”. Vice President Tang Litu read out the “Decision on Commending the Outstanding Undergraduate Graduates of Shanghai Theatre Academy Class of 2021”. Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission read out the “Decision on Commending the Outstanding Postgraduate Graduates of Shanghai Theatre Academy Class of 2021”. Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min read out the "Decision on Commending Outstanding Graduates at Shanghai Municipal Level of Shanghai Theatre Academy Class of 2021". University leaders presented the certificates of honor to the graduates who were winners of the above awards.
Representatives of graduates, parents of graduates, alumni and teachers spoke on the stage successively. Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of the university, delivered the graduation speech.
The flag handover ceremony culminated the graduation ceremony. In the oath-making proceeding, all the graduates stand up and solemnly made the oath in front of the school flag.
During the degree awarding session, Vice President Yang Yang read out the "Decision of Shanghai Theatre Academy on Awarding Doctor's, Master's and Bachelor's Degrees for Class of 2021 Graduates". Under the witness of the whole audience, the students who received the respective degrees stepped onto the stage joyfully for the solemn Turn the Tassel ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, the words of Li Dazhao, one of the founders of the Communist Party of China, were presented to all the graduates as a parting message: "With our youth, we should create a family of youth, a country of youth, a nation of youth and a mankind of youth!"
