At noon on 10 June, the first “Lunch with the President” event in 2021 was held in the East Conference Room on the second floor of the Foxi Building. The lunch was presided over by Bao Yuqiang, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office. Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shen Liang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office and Dean of the Graduate School, Chen Yun, Director of the Organization Department, Director of the Personnel Office and Director of the Faculty Affairs Office, Zhi Yunbo, Deputy Director of the Research Office, and nine young teachers from various colleges and departments attended the lunch.
The young teachers introduced their experiences and insights in terms of teaching their courses, applying for teaching projects, research projects, personal creation and guiding students, as well as their plans for teaching their courses and career development going forward. The departmental heads attending the lunch meeting introduced the relevant policies and systems and put forward relevant suggestions. Finally, President Huang Changyong had a cordial one-to-one exchange and guidance with the young teachers present. According to the academic structure and personal characteristics of the teachers present, he put forward personalized career development suggestions for young teachers.
"Lunch with the President” is a very good communication platform, so that the university leaders can listen to the voice of front-line teachers and solve the practical difficulties that the teachers encounter in the course of work and development. After the first “Lunch with the President” event, the Organization Department received very positive feedbacks from the participating teachers. The “Lunch with the President” takes the form that allows teachers to communicate freely in a good atmosphere, and also increases teachers' sense of identity and belonging to the university.
