On 4 June, as one of the activities of the returned overseas Chinese community in Shanghai to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the exchange meeting of artists from the returned overseas Chinese community was held in the Dance School affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy. Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Preside of the Shanghai Theatre Academy and Chairman of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Chapter of the Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, extended the warm welcome to Qi Quansheng, Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the participating artists from the returned overseas Chinese community for their presence, and introduced the development situation of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
Before the meeting, Qi Quansheng, Chairman of Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and some of the famous artists from the returned overseas Chinese community in Shanghai, watched the segments of “The Yellow River”, a large-scale symphony dance poem. The chief director of the symphony dance poem "The Yellow River" is Chen Jianian, Dean of the Dance College of Shanghai Theatre Academy and Vice Principle of the Dance School affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy. He and his wife, Lin Meifang, are both leading art educators in from the returned overseas Chinese community, who have trained a large number of dance talents.
At the exchange meeting of artists from returned overseas Chinese community, Chen Jianian made a speech first as a representative of returned overseas Chinese artists. All artists from returned overseas Chinese community in Shanghai who participated in the exchange meeting expressed their love for dance art, and respectively talked about their own wonderful experiences on how to tell Chinese stories well by artistic means and language, and to spread them to the world. Finally, Qi Quansheng made the concluding speech.
After the meeting, the guests also visited the Hongqiao Road Campus of Shanghai Theatre Academy. Fang Jun, Vice Chairwoman of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Chapter of the Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Wu Jie, Principle and Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Dance School affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy, Yang Xinhua, Vice Dean of the Dance College of Shanghai Theatre Academy and Vice Principle of the Dance School affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Drama Academy, and Kang Lu, Deputy Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Dance School affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy, also participated in the activities of the day.
