Recently, led by Party Secretary Xie Wei and President Huang Changyong, the group from Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) successively went to University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and Tongji University for research and exchange. This research visit mainly focused on the experience and practice of other universities in personnel training, discipline development and faculty team development.
University of Shanghai for Science and Technology:
Leaders of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology including Party Secretary Wu Jianyong, President Ding Xiaodong and Vice President Sheng Chun attended the research and exchange meeting. Wu Jianyong extended the welcome to the STA group on behalf of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. President Ding Xiaodong introduced the main measures taken to build a first-class university of science and technology with remarkable characteristics from the aspects of the overall situation of the university, the development of disciplines and faculty team, internal governance and personnel training. Xie Wei expressed his gratitude for the warm reception given by University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and said that the two universities could carry out exchanges and cooperation in the development of curriculum-based ideological and political courses, the aesthetics education for college students and the combination of art and science and technology etc as the next step. Huang Changyong and others had in-depth exchanges on the experience of discipline development, teaching quality assurance, professional title evaluation and appointment etc.
Tongji University:
Fang Shou'en, Party Secretary of Tongji University, delivered a welcome speech and introduced the situation of the university. Lei Xinghui, Vice President of Tongji University, chaired the research and exchange meeting. During the exchange, leaders of the two universities believed that the two sides could carry out cooperation on the talent training mode and the combination of art and engineering, so as to promote the integration of art and science and technology. Participants from both sides also had a warm exchange on talent introduction and cultivation, general education and teaching quality assurance.
On the basis of the outcomes of these research and exchange visits, the relevant functional departments of STA will further explore STA’s practice in personnel training, discipline development and faculty team development, and strive to further deepen and refine the content of its "14th Five Year Plan" text for earnest implementation, and effectively promote the building of a high-level art university.
