On 24 April 2021, the “Academic Seminar on the Centenary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and the Development of Chinese Film, Television and Theatre" jointly held by the Shanghai Film, Television and Theatre Theory Research Association and the Film College of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held in the Circular Conference Room on the Changlin Road Campus of STA. Li Zhenlin, President of the Shanghai Film, Television and Theatre Theory Research Association and Dean of the Film College of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Han Yongsheng, Party Secretary of the Film College of STA attended the seminar, together with several vice presidents of the Shanghai Film, Television and Theatre Theory Research Association including Li Jianqiang, former member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Liu Haibo, former executive dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Shanghai Vancouver Film School of Shanghai University, Yang Xiaolin, director, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Film Research Institute of Tongji University, and Yang Xinyu, deputy director and professor of the Film Art Research Center of Fudan University.
The seminar was divided into the first half and the second half. In the first half, Professor Li Zhenlin, Dean of the Film College of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Professor Li Jianqiang of the Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Liu Haibo of the Shanghai University, Li Guo, Director of the Shanghai Film and Television Literature Library, Professor Feng Guo of the Shanghai University and Professor Gong Jinping of the Fudan University spoke respectively. Professor Yang Xiaolin, Director of the Film Research Institute of Tongji University, summarized and commented on the speeches by the experts in the first half of the seminar.
In the second half, Professor Yang Xiaolin, Director of the Film Research Institute of Tongji University, Professor Yang Xinyu of the Fudan University, Associate Professor Sun Xiaohong of the Fudan University, Associate Professor Wang Qingfu of the School of Journalism and Communication of Shanghai International Studies University, Associate Professor Ai Qing of the School of Media and Communication of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Yan Haiyin, a teacher of the Film College of Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered speeches respectively.
Before the seminar began, accompanied by Li Zhenlin and Han Yongsheng, the participants visited the Film College Building on the Changlin Road Campus of STA. Subsequently, the Third Plenary Session of the Second Board of Governors of the Shanghai Film, Television and Theatre Theory Research Association was held. The meeting was chaired by President Li Zhenlin, and discussed the various topics on the agenda.
The seminar was held in the form of visiting the Film Academy Building, holding the plenary session and holding the academic seminar. The outcomes of the seminar are not only an exploration and analysis of the film, television and theatre works related to the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, but also a review and summary of the history. More importantly, based on the history and development of Chinese film, television and theatre, this seminar is of great significance to the development of Chinese film, television and theatre in the trend of diversified development.
