On 19 April, five people from theInternational Exchange Center of Shanghai Theatre Academy and the Chinese Opera College of Shanghai Theatre Academy attended the opening ceremony of the "ASEAN-China Sports Culture Development Alliance" and the "Maritime Silk Road Art Education Alliance" as well as the first members’ meeting and art education innovation forum of the "Maritime Silk Road Art Education Alliance" which were held in the Hainan University.
Jointly sponsored by the ASEAN-ChinaCenter and the Hainan University, thesemeetings were held online and offline. Keynote speeches were delivered by representatives of the Hainan University, the Shanghai Theatre Academy, the Central Academy of Fine Art, the Krirk University in Thailand and the University of Southampton in the UK. Zhang Yunlei, Director of the International Exchange Center of Shanghai Theatre Academy, made a keynote speech on behalf of STA. She mainly introduced the development of international exchange in STA to the member schools of the alliance, covering by foreign affairs exchange, international students and cooperation with international organizations, and put forward development ideas and suggestions for the establishment of the "Maritime Silk Road Art Education Alliance".
The "Maritime Silk Road Art Education Alliance" is jointly launched by the ASEAN-China Center and the Hainan University. The alliance will expand the training for various kinds of art professionals among its members and share high-quality resources of art education. In addition, it will make use of the alliance's high-quality resources to facilitate the first-class artists from China and countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road to carry out teaching and scientific research in the member organizations of the alliance. So far, 52 higher education institutions from 12 countries and regions have applied to join the "Maritime Silk Road Art Education Alliance". In the future, STA will also play an active role in the alliance to promote the concerted efforts among its members in the field of art education covering such aspects as teaching and research, personnel training, cultural exchanges etc, so as to realize the sharing of art education resources and common development.
