According to the requirements of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Shanghai Teachers Training Center, a month-long program of research and studies based on the employing university has been added to the pre-job training for new teachers in the higher education institutions under the Shanghai municipality since 2019. The Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) has attached great importance to this work. Led by the personnel office, teacher affairs department and academic affairs office, a unique program of research and studies based on our own university has been developed in combination with the actual situation of our university, which brings together the resources of the entire university and earnestly implements the research and studies objectives. It has achieved good training results, and has been highly acknowledged by the teachers participating in the training and the superior organizations.
The research and studies program based on our own university in 2020 coincided with the 75th anniversary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Taking this as an opportunity, the university has customized a set of training program for new teachers, which is "guided by the curriculum-based ideological and political education and teachers' ethics construction, covers the development of teachers' ethics, teaching ability, research ability and social adaptability and, at the same time, fully reflects the characteristics of STA", so as to meet the personalized career development demands of teachers as far as possible. The research and studies program based on our own university, which lasted for more than 20 days, has recently come to a successful end.
Through the research and studies program based on our own university, the new teachers have fully understand the subject characteristics of their major, learnt from the teaching experience of excellent teachers, understand and mastered the educational concept of "curriculum-based ideological and political education". It has helped the new teachers fully understand the history and situation of the university, and quickly establish a sense of identity, belonging and pride towards the university; It has also opened up the dialogue and cooperation between new and old teachers, and established the favorable atmosphere in which "the old guides the new" and "the old pairs with the new".
