The Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held the Autumn Job Fair for Graduates of 2021 in the foyer of the Foxi Library at the Changlin Road Campus on the afternoon of 4 December. This job fair was also an important measure in the employment work plan that had been put launched at the initiation meeting for the work on the employment of graduates of our university in 2021. More than 40 prospective employing entities were invited to the job fair to recruit talents, which covered the industries of media companies, professional troupes, cultural, film and television companies, educational institutions, theatres and cultural centers etc, with 840 job vacancies.
This job fair was the second offline job fair held by our university after the special alumni job fair in October. It provided more targeted and more comprehensive opportunities for our graduates to communicate with the employing entities face to face, and attracted a large number of graduating students and also many graduates of previous years to attend. The university also made strict arrangements for the on-campus COVID-19 prevention and control during the job fair.
Despite the sharply reduced supply of jobs in the film, TV and media industries due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, socio-economic situation and other factors which has directly affected the employment market for graduates of art colleges and universities who have had to face with severe employment pressure, in this job fair, we still felt the earnest, responsible and sincere attitude of all participating entities for recruitment. These employing entities gave students a lot of time for face-to-face communication, so that students could have a deeper understanding of the industries and positions they were interested in, and some of these entities even had senior executives come on-site to interview students directly. After the job fair was over, the participating entities all said that they would arrange further interviews on a meritorious basis, and wished all students the very best.
