According to the “Announcement of the Accreditation Results of the First Batch of National First-class Undergraduate Courses” issued by the Ministry of Education, six courses of our university have been accredited as among the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses. Of which, "Introduction to Playwriting", "Creation and Presentation of Stage Lighting Design", "Creation and Presentation of Makeup Design" and "History of Chinese Opera" are offline courses; "Language Skills Training" is an online and offline mixed course; and "Appreciation of Different Chinese Operas" is an online course.
Professor Ye Changhai is in charge of the course "Appreciation of Chinese Operas", and the team members include Professor Zhu Hengfu etc. This course selects representative operas and provides the appreciation and analysis of them by way of showing the performance of famous plays coupled with explanation by experts, with the hope to contribute to the spreading and popularization of the knowledge of Chinese opera, and to the promotion of Chinese traditional culture.
Chinese opera is the treasure of Chinese culture. It is hoped that in the teaching process of this course, students can understand the history and current situation of Chinese opera, substantively experience the artistic achievements of Chinese opera, and make efforts to inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the motherland.
