75 years of continuous endeavors have been like a song. For 75 years, we have been practical-minded, constantly aiming high, and striving for excellence and perfection.
On the evening of 1 December 2020, the theme event in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held in the STA Experimental Theatre. Yu Lijuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal Government, Shen Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee for Education and Health Work, Hang Chunfang, Deputy Director-General of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Wang Hua, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of the Jing'an District, Long Wanli, Vice Mayor of the Jing’an District, and Liu Yan, Vice Mayor of the Minhang District, as well as representatives of the CPC Municipal Committee for Education and Health Work, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Jing'an District Government, the Minhang District Government, other higher education institutions, art troupes and partner organizations, alumni representatives, and part of the teachers and students of STA, attended the theme event.
Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, presided over the theme event. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered a speech at the theme event.
Jiao Huang, a Year 1955 alumnus and a famous performing artist, and Yu Hui, a Year 1986 alumna and an actress, expressed their best wishes, gratitude and messages to the alma mater on behalf of the graduates of STA.
After nearly a year's preparation, and with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs, the Shanghai Theatre Academy Education Development Foundation was officially established. At the theme event, the senior representative of the Foundation Division of the Shanghai Municipal Social Organizations Administration Bureau read out the foundation establishment approval.
Then, Yu Lijuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal Government, and Shen Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee for Education and Health Work party, took the stage to unveil the plague of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Education Development Foundation.
Red Star Macalline Holding Group Co Ltd, which signed a cooperation agreement with STA in June this year, made a donation to the Shanghai Theatre Academy Education Development Foundation on the occasion of the 75th anniversary celebration of STA, thus becoming the first donor of the foundation. Pan Ping, President of the Red Star Macalline Holding Group Co Ltd, presented the donation on behalf of the company.
At the end of the theme event, some of the retired former leaders and retired professors of STA, current leaders of STA and representatives of teachers and students of various colleges and departments performed a poetry recitation, which fully expressed the pride, passion and vision of "Being A STAer".
Building a domestically leading and internationally first-class art university is a great task solemnly entrusted by the Party and the people. It is the ardent expectation of all walks of life of the society and the original aspiration of all STAers. After the theme event, all participants watched the 2020 version of the master play “Xiong Foxi”. This was a salute to the forerunners of STA, and was also a review of the original aspiration. Only when you know the road you have traveled to come, can you see clearly the road now under your feet, and be full of confidence and motivation for the road ahead.
On the day of 1 December, the Shanghai Theatre Academy also held a series of other anniversary celebration activities, which were all broadcasted live on Internet, thus sharing this memorable day with more people who care and love STA.
