On the afternoon of 18 November 2020, the delivery of the course “Introduction to Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era” officially commenced at the New Space Theatre on the Huashan Road Campus of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). The first speaker of the course was Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA. Part of STA’s Party and administrative leadership teams, heads of the relevant offices, all teachers and counselor representatives from the College of Marxism, and the Year 2020 students of the Theatrical Literature Department and the Stage Design Departments participated in the learning of this course.
“Introduction to Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era” is a compulsory ideological and political theory course that STA has opened this year on a trial basis for the Year 2020 new students. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, Hu Min, Deputy Secretary of STA, Zhou Yin’e, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Commission Discipline Inspection of STA, and Zhang Weiling, Deputy Secretary and Vice President of STA, will personally participate in the teaching of this course, thus providing more opportunities for students to have direct communication and learning with the STA leaders. The College of Marxism has also allocated key teachers to this course, striving to build this course into a high-quality course of ideological and political theory of STA.
At the beginning of the course, Chen Min, Dean of the College of Marxism, provided an overview of this course. Then, the Party Secretary Xie Wei began the lecture on the general introduction of “Introduction to Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era”. The lecture lasted for nearly two hours, with a block of time specially reserved for communication and interaction with students. This lecture has made a good start for the delivery of “Introduction to Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era” at STA, and has also increased the influence of STA’s ideological and political theory course.
