At noon on 22 October, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held the sharing session of the “I Speak for Financial Aid - Financial Aid Publicity Ambassadors Campaign” as an event of the Students Forum in the West Conference Room on the second floor of the Foxi Building on the Huashan Road Campus. This sharing session was also the review meeting to select STA’s outstanding financial aid publicity ambassadors in 2020. The judges of the review meeting included a number of teachers from the Trade Union, the Acting Department, the Student Affairs Office and the Youth League Committee of STA. Li Dongmei, Director of the Student Affairs Office, and Xu Jing, Secretary of the Youth League Committee and Deputy Director of the Student affairs Office, as well as more than 50 students from various colleges and departments, attended the event.

Year 2020 is the decisive year for poverty alleviation in China. In order to further improve the awareness of the financial aid policies of the country, foster the connection between senior high school and university in terms of financial aid, and help the education-based poverty alleviation, the Student Affairs Office and the Youth League Committee of STA launched a social practice summer program in July entitled "I Speak for Financial Aid", and issued a notice of recruiting financial aid publicity ambassadors to students receiving scholarships and grants. More than 10 students from various colleges and departments responded to the call. After receiving proper training, adopting a combination of online and offline means, they went to senior high schools in their hometowns, worked as volunteers in the district-level financial aid management centres, and vigorously publicize the financial aid policies of the country via such online platforms as Xiaohongshu, Douyin and Weibo etc, so as to eliminate the economic concerns and psychological burden of the students concerned, and to set their mind at rest in their studies. Seven of these financial aid publicity ambassadors were invited to the sharing session to share their stories in person.
