On 22 October, the Education and Teaching Conference of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held in the STA Experimental Theatre. STA leaders Xie Wei, Huang Changyong, Hu Min, Zhou Yin’e, Zhang Weiling, Tang Litu, Yang Yang and Zhang Jiachun attended the conference, together with the faculty and staff of all colleges, departments and functional offices.
The first item on the agenda of the conference was to commend the various the projects that won the teaching achievement award in 2020 award, i.e. the Academy Award, and present the certificates to the project leaders.
Shen Liang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, introduced the “Three Year Action Plan for Education and Teaching of Shanghai Theatre Academy (2021-2023)”. Xiao Ying from the Department of Acting, Wu Yang from the College of Chinese Opera, Xian Jiqing from the Department of Stage Design and Cao Junyang from the College of Marxism made exchange speeches as representatives of the teachers, and elaborated on the theoretical cognition and practical experience of education and teaching from various angles.
Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of STA said at the conference that as early as half a year ago when the COVID-19 pandemic was most serious, the Party committee of STA had decided to hold a university-wide education and teaching conference, which would be the first university-wide congress on education and teaching ever held by STA in the past ten years, and would therefore leave a mark on the development process of STA.
Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, pointed out in his speech that this conference is a general mobilization and a declaration for the education and teaching work of STA, and that after more than six months of preparation, it is highly necessary for us to hold such a meeting and produce such a document.
