In the afternoon of 14 October, initiated by the Research Office, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held the special research meeting onliberal arts laboratories in the conference room on the first floor of Foxi Building. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, Yang Yang, Vice President, leaders of relevant functional offices, heads and experts of various laboratoriesas well as relevant staff of the Research Office attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the heads and project leaders of relevant colleges and departments introduced the situation of the various projects, which included the College of Creative Studies' Ministry of Culture and Tourism Key Laboratory for Integrated Innovation of Digital Performing Arts, the Department of Stage Design's Comprehensive Experimental Centre for Performing Arts Lighting, the Laboratory of Performing and Broadcasting Space Jointly Sponsored by Central and Local Governments, the Basic Teaching Laboratory of Image Recording and Production Jointly Sponsored by Central and Local Governments, and the Laboratory of Television Video and Audio Production Jointly Sponsored by Central and Local Governments etc.
The person-in-charge from the Research Department interpreted and analyzed the background and current situation of the priority of work set by the Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education to support the establishment and development of a batch of liberal arts laboratories in 2020, and provided a report on the establishment and development of liberal arts laboratories in STA from four aspects, i.e. background of establishment and development, analysis of current situation, ideas and measures, and implementation suggestions. The heads of the Planning Office, Discipline Office, Finance Office and Personnel Office, as well as project leaders and relevant experts of various laboratories, also made suggestions and recommendations, and engaged in warm discussions on various topics concerning the establishment and development of liberal arts laboratories.
Vice President Yang Yang and Party Secretary Xie Wei made concluding remarks respectively. Finally, Party Secretary Xie made a comprehensive deployment of the work concerning the establishment and development of liberal arts laboratoriesin STA in the nest step. He pointed out that STA should take the construction of the Changlin Road Campus and the renovation of the STA Experimental Theater as an opportunity to effectively develop the hardware and, at the same time, effectively develop the software in terms of systems and personnel allocation, thus achieving the synchronized advancement of software and hardware. He also pointed out that STA should effectively carry out the relevant research work, and that the Research Office should take the lead to effectively promote the smooth implementation of the work to establish and develop liberal arts laboratories in STA as a whole.
