LiWei, male, researcher, PhD. Born in 1975, from Tianmen, Hubeiprovince. Bachelor of Hubei University, Master and Doctor Degreesfrom Nanjing University. He once engaged in post-doctoral research atBar-Ilan University in Israel and Shanghai Theater Academy, and avisiting scholar at the University of Michigan and Vassar College(2013-2014). Honored as Shanghai Pujiang Scholar, Shanghai DawningScholar, he is currently the deputy editor-in-chief of Drama Art,the journal of Shanghai Theater Academy, and a master/doctoral tutorin the research of modern Chinese drama (including drama and opera).
Heis the author of Doubt and Freedom: Drama Criticism in the Periodof Cultural Transition (Shanghai Bookstore Publishing House, 2011edition), Three Paradigms of Drama Reform in the 20th Century(2014 edition of Zhonghua Book Company), and more than 50 papers.Hisscientific research achievements include the first National DramaCulture Award, Tian Han Drama Award, Wang Guowei Drama Theory Award,etc. He serves as the standing director of Chinese Drama History andTheory Research Association, director of Shanghai PeriodicalsAssociation, member of China Tian Han Research Association, ZhouXinfang Art Research Association and Shanghai Classical LiteratureAssociation, and distinguished researcher of China Literature ReviewBase of Wuhan University.
