LiuQing, male, professor, doctoral supervisor, is currently the deputydean of Shanghai Theater Academy, director of the Department of Dramaand Literature, and a council member of the Shanghai ClassicalLiterature Association.
Heis mainly engaged in the teaching and research work on the history ofChinese opera and opera writing, teaching History of Chinese Opera,Selected Readings of Famous Operas, Traditional Writing, TheoreticalWriting, Selected Readings of Historical Chinese Operas and othercourses.
Inrecent years, Prof. Liu undertaken the National Social Science Fundand other types of scientific research projects, including Researchon Drama Price from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,Research on Drama Management in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Researchon the Prohibition of Dramas in Qing Dynasty and Management of GardenTheatre Troupe, etc. His published monographs include DramaManagement in Ming and Qing Dynasties (2006), Shanghai ComicHistory (2011), Management and Prohibition: The EcologicalTheory of Ming and Qing Drama Performance (2014). He serves asthe chief editor of Fifty Years of Kunqu Opera (Co-editor,2004), associate editor of The Palace of Eternal Life: Performanceand Research (2009), chief editor of Solo Performance inthe Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Series (2011), executiveeditor of Kunqu Opera (2011). He has won the Second Prize ofShanghai Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Works(2012) and the Second Prize of Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award(2014).
