Opening of New Semester
7 September was the first day of the Fall Semester 2020 at Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). The memory was still fresh that half a year ago on 2 March, teachers and students of the entire STA started a special semester online. On this day, offline teaching has finally been fully restored, which is familiar and also "strange", is joyful and also full of emotion.
Work Inspection by STA Leaders
On the early morning of the first day of the new semester, STA leaders including Xie Wei, Huang Changyong, Hu Min, Zhou Yin’e, Zhang Weiling, Tang Litu, Yang Yang and Zhang Jiachun went to the Huashan Road Campus, Lianhua Road Campus, Hongqiao Road Campus and Changlin Road Campus respectively to inspect the work of new semester opening as well as the classes. During the inspection, the STA leaders told the teachers and students that although the situation of COVID-19 prevention and control in China is basically stable thus creating the necessary conditions for the restoration of offline teaching, the attention to COVID-19 prevention and control should not be relaxed and, at the same time, the major-related study should not be relaxed too, instead, it should be further be enhanced while ensuring everyone stay healthy.

Registration of Returning Students
On 6 March, the registration of returning undergraduate and postgraduate students at all campuses of STA was successfully completed (while the new students of Year 2020 will arrive for registration on 9 October). STA leaders Xie Wei and Zhang Weiling went to visit the returning students at the registration point and dormitory.

It is worth mentioning that the students of Year 2017 and Year 2018 of the College of Creativity Studies and the College of Film and Television moved to the Changlin Road Campus from the Huashan Road Campus and the Lianhua Road Campus respectively in January this year. Their close contact with the Changlin Road Campus was postponed for one semester due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and finally they have now formally settled in their new home.
STA's arrangements for this year’s registration of returning students were particularly detailed and thoughtful. The first lesson after registration was the explanation given by the head teacher of each class on the campus management measures under the normalization of COVID-19 prevention and control.
The new semester opening in the camera lens has recorded its special nature and, more importantly, also recorded our expectation and calmness after experiencing the test of COVID-19 outbreak.
