On 9 June, the special meeting on alumni of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) providing support for employment of graduates was held. STA leaders, including Party Secretary Xie Wei, Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min, and Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President Zhang Weiling, had a warm exchange with STA alumni from culture, media, film and television, fashion and other industries, and introduced various preferential policies for collaboration on employment for graduates between STA andenterprises with STA alumni. They extended the welcome for alumni to “return” to STAfor in-depth collaboration in the chain of teaching, practice and employment, thus writing a new chapter of common development.
Vice President Zhang Weiling first introduced the employment work this year. Then, the alumni attending the meeting actively introduced the situation and demand for talents of their respective organizations. They all expressed their keen willingness to provide more opportunities for outstanding graduates of STA, and also thanked STA and STA Alumni Association for building such a practical platform.
Many alumni of STA are active in the forefront of theatre, film and television, media, design and other cultural fields, becoming an important part of "mentoring" current students. Graduates from different majors in STA have constituted high-quality talent reserves for the long-term development of these enterprises, and a win-win situation can be surely achieved through the bridging role played by the STA Alumni Association.
At the end of the meeting, Party Secretary Xie Wei made the concluding speech. He believed that the collaboration between STA and organizations with STA alumni is built on the high degree of professional and emotional fit, and that it is STA alumni providing more opportunities for students on this basis will effectively promote students' practice and improve their professional ability.
The heads of the Student Affairs Office, College of Continuing Education, Alumni Association and Youth League Committee, as well as the deputy secretaries of Party branches in various colleges and department, also attended the meeting and had productive exchanges with the alumni present.
