Target: Wuhan, the radio play on fighting COVID-19 created by the teachers of the College of Film and Television of Shanghai Theatre Academy, was recently launched in the online audio platform, Himalayas FM. The radio play Target: Wuhan is based on the real deeds of many people who fearlessly put themselves in harm’s way with the greatest love of the world. The play lasts nearly 60 minutes. Through the collision between medical workers as represented by Qin Jiajia and common people as represented by Qin’s father in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, it tells the touching stories of people of all walks of life who have come together with the common purpose to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of Shanghai Academy of drama, said that in this special period, it is the mission and responsibility of art educators to pay homage to the heroes who put themselves in harm’s way to protect people’s lives in the form of radio play.
It is understood that during the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to the implementation of various prevention and control work, Shanghai Theatre Academy has steadily pushed forward the Fight COVID-19 Pandemic with Art initiative in a safe, orderly and creative way. In line with the purpose of art serving the people, it has created more than 200 works such as poetry recitation, songs, paintings, music videos and stage plays etc, paying homage to the heroes fighting in the front line of COVID-19 prevention and delivering positive energy to the society in various artistic forms such as writing, voice, painting and dance etc.
