On the morning of 20 March, the leaders of Jing'an District Government, led by Long Wanli, Vice Mayor of Jing’an District, visited the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) for field research on the epidemic prevention and control work at the STA Huashan Road Campus, and for a briefing on STA’s work of the next stage. The officials from the general office, bureau of culture and tourism and Jinganshi community council of the district government, as well as the Party and administrative leaders of STA and heads of relevant offices of STA, participated in the field research.
Long Wanli, Vice Mayor of Jing’an District, outlined the priorities for the epidemic prevention and control work in the near future, and paid close attention to finding out the situation of epidemic prevention and control concerning foreign teachers and international students at STA. At the same time, she suggested that the district and STA should strengthen the in-depth cooperation in the contest of the 14th Five Year Plan, which would include jointly creating the cultural atmosphere of Huashan Road around STA, deepening the cooperation with STA in basic education in Jing'an District and strengthening the cultural cooperation based on the Jing'an Modern Drama Valley and International Theatre Institute, thus laying the foundation for the strategic cooperation between Jing’an District and STA .
Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of STA, provided a briefing on STA’s epidemic prevention and control work and its contingency plan for school re-opening, and explained the current stockpile that STA has made, and the challenges anticipated in the epidemic prevention and control work after the school re-opening.
Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA, introduced the cooperation between STA and Jing'an District in recent years in such areas as cultural education, creative industries and international exchange etc.
Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of STA, provided a briefing on STA’s cultural events, talent exchange, innovation and entrepreneurship, and put forward suggestions and plans for both sides going further to sign the strategic cooperation agreement.
Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, on behalf of the Party and administrative leaders of the school, thanked Jing'an District Government for its continuous support and assistance. Party Secretary Xie Wei pulled together the thoughts for district-school cooperation, and clarified the spatial layout of STA and its surrounding areas during the 14th Five Year Plan period, and put forward specific ideas for cooperation in terms of art education as party of basic education, deep integration in culture and cultural industries, and regional Party construction.
The visit and field research conducted by the leaders of Jing'an District Government resolved, on the spot, the difficulties encountered by STA in the epidemic prevention and control work, highlighted the prospect of school-district cooperation, and laid a good foundation for cooperation in making STA a new benchmark for cultural exchange and theatre education in Jing'an District, and creating a strong cultural atmosphere in Huashan Road.
