From 27 to 29 December 2019, the Drama, Literature and Culture High-Level Academic Forum was successfully held in Yangzhou. The forum was co-sponsored by the Chinese Drama Research Center of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and the Dramaturgy Innovation Team of Yangzhou University, organized by the Yangzhou University School of Arts, and co-organized by the “Exploration and Contending” magazine. More than 30 experts and scholars from Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Nankai University, Fudan University, Communication University of China, Central Academy of Drama, Shandong University of Arts, Shanghai Theatre Academy and Yangzhou University attended the meeting.
The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Chen Jun, Dean of STA’s Department of Theatrical Literature. Professor Yang Yang, Vice President of STA, President of the China Association of Mao Dun Studies and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Writers Association, Professor Chen Yaping, Vice President of Yangzhou University, Professor Yu Yuanfu, Director of the Yangzhou University Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Zhu Yan, Vice Dean of the Yangzhou University School of Arts, and Ye Zhudi, Editor-in-Chief of the “Exploration and Contending” magazine, gave speeches successively.
During the special topic discussion session, Professor Ding Luonan from STA presided over the in-depth dialogue and exchange on two topics, i.e. Drama Research and Innovation and Specialized Teaching for Drama, and nine experts and scholars made wonderful keynote speeches.
During the team building, the invited external experts gave a lot of constructive suggestions to STA’s Chinese modern and contemporary drama research and innovation team and Yangzhou University’s dramaturgy innovation team. At the same time, the two teams also carried out cooperation and exchange.
At the end of the conference, Professor Ding Luonan, a senior professor of STA, made the concluding remarks and wrapped up the discussion of the conference.
