On 19 December 2019, the “6th The Actors of China Annual Gala, which was supervised by the China TV Artists Association (CTAA) and sponsored by Actors Working Committee of CTAA and the Chengdu TV and Film Artists Association, was successfully held in Chengdu.
The Actors of China Annual Gala is the only nationwide event set up for Chinese TV actors in the field of Chinese TV art. Many well-known actors and artists gathered here to witness the announcement of various awards of The Actors of China 2019.
Professor He Yan, Dean of the Department of Acting and doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), travelled to Chengdu from Shanghai to act as a guest of honor at the 6th The Actors of China Annual Gala to announce and present the awards for outstanding actors Zhang Xilin and Wang Kai for their achievements in the inheritance, innovation and promotion of the performing arts.
Zhang Xilin, a graduate of the Department of Acting of STA, and Wang Kai, a graduate of the Department of Acting of Central Academy of Drama, were awarded the title of The Actors of China. In their acceptance speeches, they mentioned how much their alma mater’s training and education had influenced their career path. Zhang Xilin said that he was particularly excited to be able to receive the trophy from the hands of Professor He Yan and famous actor Tong Ruixin.
As early as 2017, Professor He Yan was invited to participate in the 2017 The Actors of China Nomination and Commendation Meeting and 2018 The Actors of China Forum, and gave a keynote speech on the problems and development of actor training and education in China.
